Regional Marketing Conference
|Date: February, January 22 | Time: 9AM - 8PM | Location: Paccar Hall/Anthony’s Forum|
This year, our Regional Marketing Conference will highlight the travel and hospitality industry! This Conference offers an abundance of opportunities for students in the Pacific Northwest through valuable connections with industry professionals, corporate sponsors, interactive workshops, and exciting competitions. Students can immerse themselves in the travel industry by forging unique connections, building their marketing acumen, and discover career internships and opportunities.
Case Competition
The AMA Case Competition presents a marketing case for a team up to 4 to analyze and strategize a solution for. This case competition allows students to showcase their critical thinking, marketing strategy, industry analysis, and communication skills in order to develop their professional acumen. The case will be released 48 hours prior to the conference.
Video Competition
The AMA Video Competition is a prepared event in which an individual or team produces a 60 second video that promotes and advertises the UW AMA Chapter. As long as all creative and copyright rules are followed, contestants have free reign to design the video as they want with the goal remaining to create professional content.
Perfect Pitch Competition
The AMA Perfect Pitch Competition is a 90 second interview in which the competitor positions themselves as the best candidate for the designated job. Similar to an elevator pitch, the goal is to provide two to three selling points as to why the competitor is an ideal candidate, and then support these qualifications with examples and reasoning. While not a traditional sales- specific roleplay, this event challenges the competitor to utilize marketing, communication, and professional skills to achieve their goal (closing the deal).
